Da Nang International Airport is the gateway to Da Nang’s beaches, Hoi An and the Ba Na Hills. It is a pleasant airport with short distances, but its international terminal now handles far more passengers than it was built for. When several flights from Korea and China land in the evening, the immigration hall fills up quickly. Our Da Nang airport fast track service meets you before the immigration counters and takes you through the priority lane.

In this guide we explain the current state of the terminal, the expansion that started in 2026, when queues are long, and whether you need DAD airport fast track.

We are a private travel service, not the Vietnamese government. Vietnam Immigration still checks your passport and visa and decides on your entry.

A terminal over capacity, and an expansion underway

Terminal 2, which opened on 19 May 2017, was designed for about 4 million passengers a year. It handled about 6.18 million passengers in 2024 and about 6.81 million in 2025, so it now works well above its design capacity.

On 19 May 2026, work started on a VND 1.5 trillion expansion of the terminal. The plan adds about 21,000 m² of space and increases:

  • check-in counters from 54 to 85;
  • boarding bridges from 4 to 7;
  • baggage carousels for arrivals from 4 to 6.

The expansion will relieve congestion once it is finished, but while construction continues, the terminal stays crowded at peak times.

How busy is immigration at Da Nang?

Outside peak times, passport control at Da Nang usually takes less than 30 minutes. The pattern changes in the evening and late at night, when many flights from South Korea, China and other parts of Asia land within a short time. Then hundreds of passengers reach the immigration hall at once, and the wait gets much longer. Korean holidays, Chinese holidays and Vietnam’s summer season make it busier still.

Arriving at Da Nang on a charter flight

Da Nang receives many charter and tour flights, above all from South Korea and China, and many of them land in the evening and at night. That is exactly when the immigration hall at Terminal 2 is most crowded. If you are on one of these flights:

  • Your plane arrives in a bank of flights. Several charters and low-cost flights often land within the same hour, so hundreds of passengers reach passport control together.
  • Tour groups move as one. A guide may hand in a stack of passports and visa documents at once, and independent travellers on the same flight end up waiting behind the group.
  • Hoi An is still 45 minutes away. After a late arrival, a long queue means reaching your hotel after midnight.

With Da Nang airport fast track, our staff meet you before the counters and take you through the priority lane, so you can be first out instead of last. We work 24/7, and you can book for yourself, your family or the whole group, using the charter flight number on your tour voucher.

Do you need Da Nang airport fast track?

DAD airport fast track is most useful if:

  • your flight lands in the evening or late at night, which is common for flights from Korea and China;
  • you travel during Korean, Chinese or Vietnamese holidays;
  • you need a visa on arrival, or you hold a Chinese e-passport and must collect a loose-leaf visa;
  • you travel with children or older relatives, or you want to get to Hoi An quickly.

If you land in the late morning or early afternoon, already have an e-visa and travel light, the normal queue is often manageable, and you may decide you do not need it.

How fast track works at Da Nang
