Phu Quoc Airport Fast Track (PQC): Arrive Faster at a Fast-Growing Island Airport

Phu Quoc International Airport has become one of the fastest-growing airports in Vietnam. International arrivals more than doubled in early 2026, and the airport already handles more passengers than its terminal was designed for. A new terminal is being built for APEC 2027, but until it opens, peak arrivals can still mean a crowded immigration hall. Our Phu Quoc airport fast track service meets you before the counters and takes you through the priority lane.
Here is the latest on the airport, how busy it is, the special Phu Quoc visa exemption, and when PQC airport fast track is worth booking.
We are a private travel service, not the Vietnamese government. Vietnam Immigration still checks your passport and visa and decides on your entry.

What is changing at Phu Quoc airport
- Traffic is booming. In 2024, the airport handled about 4.1 million passengers, roughly 2 million of them international, already above its design capacity of about 4 million a year. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, it handled about 2.27 million passengers, up about 147%, and slightly more than half were international.
- A new terminal for APEC 2027. Terminal 2 is being built by Sun Group and was reported as about 85% structurally complete in 2026. Changi Airport Group is set to operate it. The goal is capacity for about 20 million passengers a year after 2027.
- Hotel check-in at the airport. A pilot service lets some travellers check in for their hotel at the airport.
How busy is immigration at Phu Quoc?
In April 2026, the airport reported no serious congestion despite the record traffic. Even so, the terminal is small for the number of passengers, and the pattern is typical for a resort airport: several flights from Korea, China and Southeast Asia often land in the evening or late at night within a short time. Then the queue at passport control gets long, especially in Korean and Chinese holiday periods and in the dry season from November to April.
Do you need a visa for Phu Quoc?
Phu Quoc has a special rule: foreign visitors who fly directly to Phu Quoc from abroad and stay only on the island can usually enter without a visa for up to 30 days, whatever their nationality. If you plan to continue to the mainland, you need a valid visa or visa-free entry for Vietnam. Rules can change, so check the current conditions before you travel.
If you enter under the Phu Quoc exemption, you skip the visa counter, but you still queue at passport control. That is the queue fast track helps with.
Arriving at Phu Quoc on a charter flight
Many holidaymakers reach Phu Quoc on charter and package-holiday flights, especially from Korea and China, as well as Southeast Asia. Charters often land in the evening or at night, close to scheduled flights, in a terminal that already works above its design capacity. For charter passengers this means:
- Even with the island visa exemption, you still queue. You skip the visa counter, but passport control is the same queue for everyone on the plane.
- Groups reach the counters together. Package tours move as one group, and independent travellers on the same flight can end up last.
- Your resort transfer waits for everyone. The transfer to the south or north of the island usually leaves when the last group member is out.
With Phu Quoc airport fast track, our staff meet you before the counters and take you through the priority lane. Book for yourself, your family or the whole group, and enter the charter flight number from your tour voucher.
Do you need Phu Quoc airport fast track?
PQC airport fast track is most useful if:
- your flight lands in the evening or at night, together with other flights from Korea, China or Southeast Asia;
- you travel in the dry season or in an Asian holiday period;
- you travel with children or older relatives;
- you want to start your holiday without standing in a queue after a night flight.
If you land at a quiet time and travel light, the normal queue may be short, and you may not need the service. Many customers book it anyway for a relaxed VIP start to their holiday.
