You land in Vietnam after a long flight, and the first thing you see is a long queue at passport control. At busy times, especially in the evening and in the holiday season, the wait can take an hour or more. If you still need a visa on arrival, there is a second queue before that one. Our Vietnam airport fast track service is made for exactly this moment. A member of our team meets you with a name board at the entrance to the arrival hall, helps you at the visa counter if you need it, and takes you through immigration by the priority lane.

The service is available at 13 international airports in Vietnam, from USD 45 per person. Book at least 24 hours before your flight, so we can arrange staff at the airport. Later bookings carry an urgent surcharge.

We are a private travel service, not the Vietnamese government. Vietnam Immigration still checks your passport and visa and decides on your entry.

Who arrival fast track is for

Vietnam airport fast track is useful for any traveller, but it helps most when time, comfort or language matters:

  • First-time visitors. You do not need to work out where to go, which queue to join or what the officers will ask for. You follow our staff.
  • Travellers with a visa on arrival. You need to stop at the landing visa counter, hand in your documents and wait for the visa before you can queue for passport control. Our staff help you through both steps.
  • Chinese e-passport holders. Vietnam does not stamp visas into Chinese e-passports with the nine-dash line map. Instead, you receive a loose-leaf visa at the landing visa counter, even with an e-visa. As a result, you face the same extra stop as visa-on-arrival travellers, and fast track helps here too.
  • Families with children and older travellers. A long standing queue after a night flight is hard for children and grandparents. With fast track, the whole group moves together through the priority lane.
  • Business travellers. If you have a meeting soon after landing, fast track saves time at the airport.
  • Travellers with a domestic connection. If you continue to another city on a domestic flight, our VIP + domestic connection package takes you from arrival to the domestic terminal.

Do you need to book fast track?

Vietnam’s international airports have priority lanes at passport control. Some travellers can use them for free, without booking any service:

  • APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) holders;
  • diplomats and holders of service (official) passports;
  • high-ranking government officials;
  • aircrew;
  • business-class passengers and top-tier frequent flyers of Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways (for example Lotusmiles Platinum or Titanium, or SkyTeam Elite members).

If you belong to one of these groups, you already have this privilege and do not need our service.

Most travellers, however, do not. If you fly economy, or hold an ordinary passport without one of these cards or memberships, you normally join the long public queue. Our Vietnam airport fast track service is made for you: our staff meet you and take you to the priority lane, so you save the waiting time. Some of our customers are simply not in a hurry but want to enjoy the VIP experience after a long flight, and that is welcome too.

How Vietnam airport fast track works on arrival

How Vietnam airport fast track works on arrival: meet at the arrival hall, visa counter, priority lane at passport control, then exit

Step 1: Meet our staff at the arrival hall

After you leave the plane, follow the signs for arrivals. Our staff wait at the entrance to the arrival immigration checkpoint, before the immigration counters, holding a board with your name. We work 24/7, including for flights that land around midnight. Keep your phone switched on after landing, in case we need to contact you on WhatsApp, WeChat or by phone.

Step 2: The visa counter, if you need it

If you enter with a visa on arrival, our staff take you to the landing visa counter and help you hand in your documents quickly. You pay the USD 25 government stamping fee at the counter yourself, in cash. We do not charge an extra service fee for this help. If you hold a Chinese e-passport, you collect your loose-leaf visa at the same counter, and our staff help you in the same way.

If you have an e-visa and a passport that can be stamped, or you enter visa-free, you skip this step.

Step 3: The priority lane at passport control

Next, our staff take you to the priority lane at passport control. Instead of joining the long public queue, you go through a shorter lane, and you usually finish the immigration check within minutes. The immigration officer still checks your passport and visa as usual, stamps your entry, and may ask where you will stay in Vietnam and for how long. Therefore, keep your hotel address and your return or onward flight ready.

In rare cases, a traveller is sent to a health or plant-and-animal quarantine counter first, for example after coming from an area with a disease outbreak or when carrying goods that need quarantine. Our staff stay with you if this happens.

Step 4: Baggage and customs (VIP packages)

With a VIP package, our staff stay with you after passport control. They help you find your baggage belt and collect your luggage, then take you through customs to the exit. At customs you choose the green channel if you have nothing to declare, or the red channel if you do. You fill in any customs declaration yourself, and our staff show you where to go. After customs, a final security check of your bags may take place before you leave the airport.

Step 5: Exit, or your domestic connection

Finally, you meet your driver or take a taxi or public transport. With the VIP + domestic connection package, our staff help you get to the domestic terminal, by taxi or the airport bus, so you can check in for your next flight.

Rules can change, so check with Vietnam Customs if you carry large amounts.

Bank cards and traveller’s cheques do not count towards the cash limit.

Medicine and prohibited items

You may bring medicine for your own treatment with the prescription: up to 7 days’ supply of narcotic medicines, or up to 10 days of psychotropic medicines, at the prescribed dose. Some goods are prohibited, for example weapons, ammunition and explosives, fireworks and sky lanterns, and publications banned in Vietnam.

  3. Enter your flight number, airport, arrival date and arrival time, in Vietnam time.

We use your documents only to arrange the service, and we delete uploaded documents every week.

Flight delays and missed meetings

Flights are often delayed or arrive early. Our staff follow your flight on the airport arrival display and adjust the meeting time, so you do not need to rebook. If your flight is cancelled and you do not arrive, or if our staff cannot find you at the meeting point, we refund the amount we received. See our refund policy.

You still need a visa

Vietnam airport fast track is not a visa. Before you fly, make sure you have one of these:

If your e-visa is still in processing and your trip is close, see our guide to what to do when your e-visa is still in processing.

Departure fast track

We also help on departure. Our staff meet you at the agreed point in the terminal and guide you to your airline’s check-in counter, where you check in yourself. Then we take you through exit immigration by the priority lane. Departure Standard costs USD 45 per person. Departure VIP costs USD 80 per person and also includes the priority lane at security.
